Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Larpspot, a macOS application that simulates the reported GPS location of an iOS device connected to your computer. By downloading, installing or using Larpspot, you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the software.

1. Who may use Larpspot

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a licence. You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract in your country of residence.

2. Devices you may use it on

You may use Larpspot only on devices you own, or devices you have the device owner’s explicit permission to modify. Using it on someone else’s device without their knowledge or consent is a breach of these terms and may be unlawful where you live. We will terminate a licence used that way without refund.

3. What Larpspot does and does not do

Larpspot uses the location simulation mechanism Apple provides for developers. It does not jailbreak your device, exploit a vulnerability, bypass, disable or weaken any security control, install software on the device, or modify iOS. The change it makes is reversible: reset it in the app, disconnect, or restart the device.

4. Your responsibility for how you use it

Simulating your location may breach the terms of service of applications and services you use. Those providers may restrict, suspend or terminate your accounts as a result. That enforcement is entirely theirs, and the consequences of it are entirely yours. We do not indemnify you against them, and we cannot restore an account another company has closed.

You agree not to use Larpspot:

• on a device you do not own and are not authorised to modify;
• to commit fraud, to defeat a legal or court-ordered monitoring requirement, or to break any law that applies to you;
• to deceive, stalk, harass or endanger another person, or to misrepresent your location where doing so causes harm;
• to misrepresent your location to a government body, an emergency service, an insurer or an employer where that misrepresentation is material.

5. Licence

A subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Larpspot on the number of computers stated in your plan, for as long as the subscription is active. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or share your licence key, nor reverse engineer the software except where the law expressly permits it.

6. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the price in effect when you subscribed, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and you keep access until then. Refunds are governed by our refund policy.

7. Compatibility is not guaranteed forever

Larpspot depends on mechanisms Apple controls and can change without notice. A new iOS or macOS release may break some or all of the functionality. We will say so publicly and work to restore it, but we cannot guarantee continued compatibility with future operating system versions. Our compatibility page reflects the current state at all times.

8. No warranty

Larpspot is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract — in the European Union in particular, your statutory rights are unaffected.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with Larpspot is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, or for the loss, suspension or termination of any third-party account.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your licence if you breach these terms, particularly section 2 or section 4. Where the breach is not your fault and is capable of remedy, we will tell you first.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “last updated” date, and where the change affects your rights we will notify subscribers by email before it takes effect.
